Take Another Look — a new exhibition by Belfast-based artist
Eimear Campbell
23 November – 10 December 2025, Boundary Taproom, Belfast
Local artist Eimear Campbell invites viewers to take another look — to pause, notice, and reconnect with the beauty of the world around us — in her new solo exhibition of atmospheric, semi-abstract paintings, opening 23 November at Boundary Taproom, Belfast.
Featuring original works, the exhibition explores the deep connection between people and place, how we are sculpted by our environment and our experiences. Through expressive layers of bold and soft colours, shifting textures, and rhythmic movement, Campbell captures the sensations of being fully present in a moment — the calm of water, the warmth of sunlight, the pull of the horizon.
“This collection is about noticing — not just seeing, but really feeling a place,” says Campbell.
“I’ve always been fascinated by how our environment can sculpt who we are. Growing up in rural Tyrone I loved the quiet, beauty of the landscape. Now living in Belfast for 8 years I have grown to love the buzz of the city - yet I’m always drawn back to the ocean, the mountains, the energy and peace that nature gives. I seek elements of nature every day, it can be simple things like feeling the earth with my bare feet, breathing in the night sky, or noticing the clouds that form above.
My aim is to invite viewers to pause, reflect, and experience their surroundings not just visually, but emotionally—recognising both the power of nature and our ability to exist within it harmoniously.”
Influenced by the mountains, rivers, and coastlines of Ireland, as well as time spent travelling in Austria and Australia, Campbell’s work reflects the vastness and energy of nature while balancing moments of stillness and introspection. Her use of contrasting tones — from rich, earthy browns and deep turquoise blues to soft misty neutrals — evokes both the physical and emotional landscapes we inhabit.
At its heart, Take Another Look celebrates how the natural world supports our wellbeing and invites harmony between human life and the environment. The exhibition reminds us that beauty and connection can be found in even the smallest, most ordinary moments — if only we pause to look.
