The Irish landscape is never still.
Light moves across mountains and fields, weather changes the colour of the sea, and familiar places can appear completely different from one moment to the next.
Changing Light is a collection of atmospheric landscape paintings inspired by these shifting moments. Rooted in the landscapes and coastlines of Ireland, the paintings explore not only what we see, but what we feel and imagine when we look more closely.
Beneath the changing surface of the landscape lie stories, myths and memories. Tales such as Tír na nÓg, the mythical Land of Youth said to exist beyond the west coast of Ireland*, remind us that places can hold deeper meanings - shaped by generations of storytelling, memory and imagination.
These paintings are interpretations of atmosphere, changing light and the romantic drama of the Irish landscape. They explore the feeling of being somewhere familiar, while seeing it differently; capturing not necessarily a place exactly as it looks, but how it feels to be there.
